This policy complies with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("CPA") and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 ("ECTA"). Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under South African law.
1. Two kinds of products
We sell two categories of goods, and different return rules apply to each:
- Custom / personalised print and branding products — items made to your specification, such as business cards, flyers, banners, posters, branded T-shirts and mugs, CV design and typing, lamination, binding, and any product printed with your artwork, text, or images.
- Standard retail products — off-the-shelf items such as stationery, phone accessories, snacks, and beverages.
2. Custom / personalised products
Because these items are made specifically for you, they cannot be returned or refunded for change of mind. This is in line with section 17(2) of the CPA and section 42(2)(d) of ECTA, which exclude goods made to a consumer's specification from cooling-off rights.
However, we will reprint or refund a custom product, at our cost, if:
- The product is defective (e.g. peeling print, faulty material, damaged apparel);
- We made an error (wrong size, wrong quantity, wrong colour versus the approved proof, spelling errors we introduced); or
- The product materially differs from the digital or physical proof you approved.
We do not reprint or refund where the error was in the artwork or text you approved (including spelling, layout, image resolution, or colour choices in your supplied files). Please check your proof carefully before approving — approval of the proof is your confirmation to print.
Colour note: minor colour variation between screen previews and printed output is inherent to printing and is not a defect.
3. Standard retail products
You may return an unused standard retail product in its original condition and packaging within 7 days of purchase or delivery for a refund, exchange, or store credit. Proof of purchase is required.
For hygiene and safety reasons we cannot accept returns of consumables (food, beverages), earphones, or vape products unless they are defective.
4. Defective goods (all products)
Under section 56 of the CPA, if any product fails, is defective, or is unsafe within 6 months of delivery, you may return it and choose a repair, replacement, or full refund. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, normal wear and tear, or failure to follow care instructions (e.g. garment washing instructions on branded apparel).
5. Online orders — cooling-off (ECTA)
For standard retail products bought through our online store, you may cancel the purchase within 7 days of delivery without reason under section 44 of ECTA and receive a full refund of the purchase price. You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods. This cooling-off right does not apply to custom / personalised products (section 42(2)(d)).
6. How to request a return, reprint, or refund
- Contact us within the applicable period at , or visit the outlet where you purchased.
- Provide your order number, proof of purchase, and (for defects) photos of the issue.
- We will assess your request and respond within 2 business days.
- If approved, return the item to your nearest Print Fast Express outlet or via a courier method we arrange with you.
7. Refund method and timing
Approved refunds are paid to your original payment method within 7–10 business days of approval (card refunds may take longer depending on your bank). Where the original method is unavailable, we will refund by EFT or store credit, at your choice.
8. Cancellations before production
You may cancel a custom order before production begins for a full refund. Once production has started, we may deduct the reasonable costs already incurred. Once production is complete, clause 2 applies.
