Size guide for branded clothing
Measure once. Order once.
Sizing is not standard across brands, so the chart on the product page always wins. This page is for the rest of it: how to measure, how to order for a team, and what to do when you genuinely do not know.
Typical adult sizing, in centimetres
A starting point only. Cuts differ by brand and by range, so check the chart on the product page before you order.
| Size | Chest | Waist | SA numeric |
|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 81 – 86 | 71 – 76 | 30 – 32 |
| S | 89 – 94 | 79 – 84 | 32 – 34 |
| M | 97 – 102 | 86 – 91 | 34 – 36 |
| L | 104 – 109 | 94 – 99 | 38 – 40 |
| XL | 112 – 117 | 102 – 107 | 40 – 42 |
| 2XL | 119 – 124 | 109 – 114 | 44 – 46 |
| 3XL | 127 – 132 | 117 – 122 | 48 – 50 |
| 4XL | 135 – 140 | 124 – 130 | 52 – 54 |
| 5XL | 142 – 147 | 132 – 137 | 56 – 58 |
Ladies' cuts generally run one size smaller than men's in the same range. Slim fit ranges run smaller again.
Four measurements and a tape
For a team order, the fastest honest method is a sign-up sheet with sizes rather than guessing from a staff list. Where that is not possible, order a size set and let people try them on.
- Chest: around the fullest part, under the arms, tape level
- Waist: around the natural waist, not the belt line
- Measure over a shirt, not over a jacket
- If someone is between sizes, go up, especially on a fitted cut
If you truly cannot ask: a starting split
A rough distribution for a mixed adult workforce. It is a starting point for the conversation, not a recommendation to order blind.
| Size | Share of the order |
|---|---|
| S | 10% |
| M | 20% |
| L | 25% |
| XL | 25% |
| 2XL | 15% |
| 3XL and up | 5% |
Adjust for your team. Ordering a handful of spares in the middle sizes is cheaper than a second production run.

Sizing questions
Do sizes run the same across brands?
No. A large in one range can be a medium in another, which is why the product page chart is the one that counts and why size sets exist.
Can I order different sizes in one order?
Yes. A mixed size order is normal and does not change the branding price, as long as the design and position stay the same.
Can I add a few extra sizes later?
Usually, subject to stock. The setup is already paid, so a top-up run only pays for the item and the per-unit branding.
Do you do ladies' and kids' sizes?
Yes, in most ranges. Ladies' cuts generally run one size smaller, and kids' sizing is by age or height depending on the range.
What if something does not fit?
Branded garments cannot be returned for sizing, which is the honest reason we push size sets so hard.
